Barbara Woodring, Ed.D., professor and associate dean of undergraduate studies for the School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), has been elected 2003-04 president-elect of the Society of Pediatric Nurses.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Barbara Woodring, Ed.D., professor and associate dean of undergraduate studies for the School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), has been elected 2003-04 president-elect of the Society of Pediatric Nurses. Woodring will assume the post in April. The society, headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, is the only national nursing organization dedicated to improving the nursing care of children and their families and to further developing pediatric nursing as a subspecialty within the nursing profession. Society members include pediatric nurses in clinical practice, education and research. Woodring will serve as the organization's president in 2004-05.
