BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) School of Medicine will host a concert, the Cultural Music Explosion, on April 4. Featuring jazz, reggae, classical, country, blues and gospel performers, the concert will help introduce prospective medical students to Birmingham and UAB.
The 8 p.m. concert will be at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, at 1631 4th Ave. North. Tickets are available for a $5 donation. For more information, call 934-7975.
Scheduled performers include Down Loa, Sweet Licks, Dewayne Davis and Kingdom, Bonita Conley and the Birmingham Heritage Band. The concert is sponsored by the School of Medicine’s Medical Student Services and the Office for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.
