Recent University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) graduate Joyce Hsu, 22, of Huntsville, has received a Martha G. Wade Fellowship from the Alpha Lambda Delta Academic Honor Society for 2003-2004.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Recent University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) graduate Joyce Hsu, 22, of Huntsville, has received a Martha G. Wade Fellowship from the Alpha Lambda Delta Academic Honor Society for 2003-2004.

Hsu received one of the 23 fellowships awarded annually by Alpha Lamda Delta for graduate study. She competed in a field of 160 applicants across the country. Hsu will receive a $7,500 stipend, the highest stipend award given.

Hsu graduated summa cum laude from UAB in May with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She is the daughter of Tai and Sunny Hsu of Huntsville.

Alpha Lamda Delta is a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence displayed by students during their first academic year at college. Members may apply for the fellowships during their senior year or after receiving their bachelor’s degree.
