BIRMINGHAM, AL — University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Career Services was recently selected as a recipient of the 2003 Achievement Award for Internal Information/Educational Programs from the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers (AACE). The award was presented recently to UAB Career Services staff at the annual AACE meeting in Mobile.

All of these opportunities are designed to help students define their educational goals and prepare for their careers by exploring the realities of the working world. Matt Fifolt, assistant director of UAB Career Services, directs the Experiential Education Program.

Career Services works in collaboration with various UAB schools, divisions and organizations, as well as professional associations and employers, to provide career-related programs and services to UAB students and alumni.

The AACE is a consortium of cooperative education, career services and employers and is the state affiliate to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
