BIRMINGHAM, AL — UAB Health System will observe National Healthcare Access Personnel Week, April 5-9 with activities recognizing the contributions of the Access Staff.

Dr. Nancy Dunlap, chief of staff for The Kirklin Clinic, said, “All of us at the Kirklin Clinic and UAB Hospital are proud of the efforts of our Access Staff. Their caring and efficient manner of managing patients during the access process makes them an important part of UAB Health System.”

Associate Director Andy Hare of the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, Management Services Organization, said, “I’m proud of the high quality of support by members of the Access Staff. The activities planned for this special week will make the community more aware of the vital services our hospitals and clinics provide.” Hare’s office provides business support for clinical patient access staff.

National Healthcare Access Personnel Week was first observed in 1982.
