BIRMINGHAM, AL — Stephen Harvey, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry in the department of biochemistry and molecular genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has been named to the executive board of the Biophysical Society at their annual meeting in San Francisco, CA.

The Biophysical Society is a professional, scientific society established to encourage development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics. Since its founding in 1956, the society has grown to over 6,500 members located throughout the United States and the world. Its members teach and conduct research in colleges, universities, laboratories, government agencies and industry.
