Staff members in the Mammography Unit at the Kirklin Clinic at UAB had formed a team to participate in the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. However, Hurricane Ivan caused a huge backlog in this means of testing women for breast cancer. So instead of racing, the team will be at the clinic providing potentially life-saving mammograms.
The event will take place Saturday, October 9 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Kirklin Clinic, 2000 6th Avenue South.
