UAB physical therapy students and faculty want to know if U Are Able. They are kicking off National Physical Therapy Month with the second Annual Are U Able 5K and mile run, walk or roll, Saturday, Sept. 27 at Oak Mountain State Park, upper picnic area.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB physical therapy students and faculty want to know if U Are Able. They are kicking off National Physical Therapy Month with the second Annual Are U Able 5K and mile run, walk or roll, Saturday, Sept. 27 at Oak Mountain State Park, upper picnic area. The 5K run starts at 8 a.m., and the mile run/walk heads out at 9 a.m. People of all ages and all levels of ability are encouraged to participate.

The event will help to raise awareness of the need for physical therapy and help support research in the field.  All proceeds from the event go to the Foundation for Physical Therapy, an organization dedicated to the funding of research related to physical therapy outcomes and interventions.

Registration costs $15, participants will get a t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in various age classes.  To register, go to www.uab.edu/pt.
