BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center has recently announced new staff appointments and promotions.

The Alys Stephens Center welcomes new Development Director Lili Anderson. Anderson joins the staff after 11 years in development at the Birmingham Museum of Art. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in international trade, she and her husband Marshall moved to Birmingham. At the BMA, Anderson managed a variety of programs, including the Museum Ball, corporate and upper level memberships as well as other fundraising initiatives. Anderson says she is looking forward to working at the Alys Stephens Center because the institution is known for offering the community a diverse and rich array of opportunities to actively participate in the arts.

Jessica Simpson, longtime marketing director at the Alys Stephens Center, has been promoted to director of marketing and programming. In addition to managing all aspects of marketing and public relations at the center, Simpson will now manage the artistic offerings of the center as well. Prior to joining with the ASC in 1999, Simpson worked with other vital Birmingham institutions, including City Stages, WTTO and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Simpson's passion is travel, which is one reason she loves the Alys Stephens Center's mission.

"Being able to bring all of these amazing, diverse artists from around the world to Birmingham gives us a chance to expand our horizons and to get a real taste of the big world around us," Simpson said.
