BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Alys Stephens Center presents Jungua "Descendants of the Dragon," a show of kung fu, acrobatics, music and dance, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. S. Enjoy Chinese cookies and treats an hour before each show; UAB's mascot, Blaze, will be on hand for the matinee pre-show reception. Enjoy 2,000 years of tradition showcased in 90 minutes of mind-blowing entertainment. The Shaolin Disciples and The Imperial Acrobats of China join together for this celebration of Chinese culture that combines the traditional masculine martial arts of kung fu with the feminine grace of acrobatics and dance. A high impact, theatrical entertainment experience for all audiences, "Jungua" is a theatrical hybrid,  presenting these cultural treasures of China from a uniquely modern perspective. Dramatic scenery, authentic props and lavish costumes create a feast for the eyes. The amazing skills of China's finest acrobats and martial arts masters combine with modern staging, exciting choreography and dramatic music and lighting to immerse the senses.
