The UAB English Language and Culture Institute (ELCI) and the Hoover Public Library have teamed up to offer English language courses for those who are learning English as their second language.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The UAB English Language and Culture Institute (ELCI) and the Hoover Public Library have teamed up to offer English language courses for those who are learning English as their second language. The classes are held 6-8 p.m. each Tuesday through Nov. 4 at Hoover Public Library, Computer Training Center, 200 Municipal Drive.

The courses that are offered are "English for Daily Life" for the beginner level and an intermediate level English class, "English Conversation Practice." The classes are led by qualified English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) instructors from UAB. The classes are free.

The ELCI, which is housed in the UAB School of Education, offers a range of ESL courses for students, area residents, international visitors and those in business who are learning English.
