UAB Hospital will throw a holiday celebration for staff, patients, friends and family on Wed., Dec. 3, in the West Pavilion Atrium. The Salvation Army Angel Tree presentation will be at 11 a.m., followed by the tree lighting at 11:30.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Hospital will throw a holiday celebration for staff, patients, friends and family on Wed., Dec. 3, in the West Pavilion Atrium. The Salvation Army Angel Tree presentation will be at 11 a.m., followed by the tree lighting at 11:30. Donations to the Salvation Army Angel Tree will be accepted all morning.

"We try to make the holiday period as normal and rich as we can for those children who must remain hospitalized over Christmas," said Jane Love, UAB child/life specialist. "Staff provide presents, treats, and holiday meals for the children and their families....and of course, there will be a visit from Santa Claus next week."

New UAB Health System CEO Will Ferniany will be on hand to meet hospital employees between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

There will be music, dancing, refreshments and prizes at the celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
