BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) National Alumni Society will present its third annual Dollars for Scholars 5K/10K benefiting UAB scholarships on Friday, April 24, in the Pepper Place district at 29th Street and Second Avenue South in downtown Birmingham.

Race time is at 6 p.m. The 5K and 10K races are open to runners of all ages. Both the 5K and 10K races are certified by USA Track and Field.

Prizes will be given to the top overall male and female runners and to the top male and female runners by age categories. A post-race party will be held outside of the restaurant Cantina, 2901 2nd Ave. S., featuring food, drinks and entertainment for all ages.

Last year's race raised $42,000 for scholarships for students.

The entry fee for the race is $20 until March 31, $25 April 1-23 and $30 the day of the race. Register online at www.active.com or by phone at 205-934-3555 or 1-800-898-2586.
