Houser,” at 6:30 p.m., April 9, at the Vestavia Country Club, 400 Beaumont Drive.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB's (University of Alabama at Birmingham) School of Health Professions (SHP) will celebrate the long career of Howard Houser, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Health Services Administration, with "An Evening Honoring Howard W. Houser," at 6:30 p.m., April 9, at the Vestavia Country Club, 400 Beaumont Drive. Proceeds from the seated dinner will be used to complete funding for the Howard Houser Endowed Professorship in Health Administration.

As founding chairman of UAB's health services administration graduate program and with more than 35 years of teaching and research in the field, Houser has had a great impact on the evolution of health care throughout the state, nation and world. SHP and the Department of Health Services Administration are establishing the Howard Houser Endowed Professorship through generous donations from many health administration alumni, faculty, colleagues and health care organizations. The creation of this prestigious position will extend Houser's legacy and make his innovative spirit a permanent and integral part of the school.
