BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) presents a lecture by Professor Emeritus Ward Haarbauer, Ph.D., "Nineteenth-Century Theatre in Birmingham," at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the UAB Mary Culp Hulsey Recital Hall, 950 13th St. S.

Haarbauer is the founder of the UAB Department of Theatre, where he taught and directed for 40 years. He has participated in more than 60 productions in professional, community and academic theatre. Professor Haarbauer also was associate dean of the UAB School of Arts and Humanities and president of the Southeastern Theatre Conference.
