BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The UAB School of Engineering will host its 2009 Engineering Summer Camp, Experience Engineering and Robotics, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22-26 in the Business and Engineering Complex (BEC), Room 355, 1150 10th Ave. S.
Open registration begins April 13 until May 15. Registration is $150, which includes daily lunches, snacks and a camp T-shirt and is non-refundable. For applications and additional information contact Donnette Parks at parksd@uab.edu or 205-934-8400.
The hands-on program will introduce campers to engineering fundamentals and the disciplines of biomedical, civil, electrical, materials and mechanical engineering. Other camp experiences include modules consisting of both in-class training and laboratory experiences to introduce engineering fundamentals, programming & robotics.
The UAB School of Engineering offers students real-world experience while they train in one of its degree programs, which include the only undergraduate biomedical engineering program in Alabama. Students experience cutting-edge research opportunities, industry co-ops and unique internships generated by the school's commitment to interdisciplinary learning.
