The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Liver Center and the UAB Liver Disease Support Group will begin the annual Liver Walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Liver Center and the UAB Liver Disease Support Group will begin the annual Liver Walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover.

The walk helps to raise awareness of liver disease and funding for patient education and community outreach initiatives at the UAB Liver Center. For information on participating in the walk or to register, call 205-975-9698.


The UAB Liver Disease Support Group, organized in 2007, provides a forum for adult patients with liver disease to learn more about their condition and share their experiences with others. The group also offers educational programs covering medical, social and nutritional topics.
