Judy Powell (BSN 1971)

Judy W. Powell, MA, BSN is a 1971 Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate of the UAB School of Nursing. She retired in Spring 2019 as the Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President, Patient Services for National HealthCare Corporation.

In this role, Ms. Powell planned, developed, and coordinated programs and activities related to patient care; developed and monitored quality improvement functions; and directed the Comprehensive Patient Care System (CPCS) – National HealthCare Corporation’s in-house developed comprehensive admission, census, patient assessment, and care planning computer system.

Prior to this role, Ms. Powell has served in numerous nursing, administration, and nurse consultant positions. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Sociology, with an emphasis on Gerontology, from Middle Tennessee State University.
