It takes a village
The presentation will focus on the UAB School of Nursing’s efforts to care for vulnerable populations through its four nurse-led clinics: the Providing Access to Health care (PATH) Clinic at UAB Medical Towers, the HRSA Heart Failure Clinic located inside UAB Hospital, the UAB Medical Clinic at The Foundry and the Veterans Affairs Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Resident Continuity Clinic.
Faculty members and staff affiliated with each clinic will highlight the work being done at the clinics and the School’s partnerships with UAB Hospital and Health System, The Foundry Rescue Mission and Recovery Center, Aletheia House, Cooper Green Mercy Health Services and the Birmingham VA Medical Center.
“This event will shine a spotlight on the tremendous work our faculty, staff, students and community partners do to address the health care needs of medically underserved populations across Birmingham and the state of Alabama,” said Associate Dean for Clinical and Global Partnerships Cynthia S. Selleck, PhD, RN, FNP, FAAN. “We applaud UAB for undertaking this month-long event to bring attention to the university’s focus on community as a whole. We also encourage everyone to attend our presentation and learn more about the efforts of the UAB School of Nursing in this area as well.”
