Michael Humber, DNP, MNA, CRNA, alumnus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing has been named president-elect of the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists (ALANA). Humber will assume the role as president at the business meeting of the ALANA Fall Meeting in 2015.
Officers and members of the board are elected by the active members each fall, one month prior to the annual meeting that is held in Birmingham.
The ALANA was founded in 1931, making it one of the first organizations of nurse anesthetists. Today ALANA works closely with its parent organization, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, to achieve local, regional, and national goals.
