Alumna Gibson-Young receives 2015 NONPF Outstanding Researcher Award
This award recognizes an individual who contributes to knowledge development for nurse practitioner practice, education and policy. The award is given annually to a nurse practitioner that demonstrates these accomplishments.
Gibson-Young’s research focuses on Improving family management of childhood asthma, specifically in the home and school settings. She works with community partners to provide educational interventions for caregivers and families of children with asthma and studies how to implement quantitative measures of asthma biomarkers in children into new asthma home management strategies. She is currently an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Nurse Practitioner programs at The University of Central Florida College of Nursing.
