University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Associate Professor Rita Jablonski, PhD, CRNP, FGSA, FAAN, was one of 23 nominated for the Great Shelby County (Alabama) Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Health Care Professional of the Year” Award.The awards luncheon was held on August 31 in conjunction with the organization’s annual Healthy Lifestyle Expo.
Greater Shelby Chamber Chief Executive Officer Kirk Mancer said both events promoted healthy living in Shelby County by honoring its local health care professionals.
“The fact that the we are the healthiest (county) in the state is a reflection of the work our health care professionals do,” Mancer said. “(The Chamber’s) Health Care Work Group decided that recognizing the health care professionals who provide care to this county is an important program to undertake.”
