University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Assistant Professor and alumnus Steadman McPeters, DNP, CPNP-AC, CRNP, RNFA (MSN 2009), has been selected to serve as president-elect of the Alabama League for Nursing (ALN) for 2021-2022. ALN is an affiliate of the National League for Nursing, a national organization committed to excellence in nursing education.
“In my role as President-Elect, I look forward to assisting our current president with the needs of the organization to continue and foster excellence in nursing education among all the schools and colleges of nursing in Alabama,” McPeters said.
McPeters is looking toward holding post-pandemic ALN conferences that will showcase strong and well-versed nurse educators through presentations of evidence-based content with outcomes that are impactful in fostering nursing education excellence. These conferences provide an opportunity to highlight excellent work with both formal podium and poster presentations from various degree programs ranging from ADN to Doctorate level education, McPeters said.
Following his term as President-Elect, McPeters will begin his term as ALN President in March 2022.
“As President, I want to provide the ALN a strong platform of leadership setting the stage for growth, diversity, equity and inclusion of its members by disseminating innovating teaching strategies with nurse educator collogues in both community college and university nursing programs,” McPeters said.
