Nurses are present at some of the most profound moments in our lives. It is then that we value their experience, education and dedication. Never has our nation needed leaders in the field of nursing more and the UAB School of Nursing is poised to deliver – we are internationally renowned for leading innovations, shaping practice and educating the high-quality nurses our country needs.
The School has broken ground on a $32 million, more than 72,000-square-foot expansion and renovation that will transform nursing education, practice and research for the 21st Century, featuring five new high fidelity nursing competency labs –pediatric, mother-baby, ICU/emergency, surgical and hospital/long-term care settings – new home health setting lab, new skills labs, technologically advanced classrooms, a student commons and The Leadership Institute. It is scheduled to open to students in Fall 2018.
This building expansion promises to deliver a solid structure — but to continue to be a great School, we need generous support from donors. As we begin 2017 we want to thank all of the donors who have given so generously to our School over the years and want to reflect on some of the gifts that are making a state-of-the-art UAB School of Nursing a reality and building the future of nursing at UAB.
