University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing alumna and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student Kristen Noles, RN, MSN, CNL, is the recipient of the Outstanding Woman UAB Staff Member Award given by the UAB Commission on the Status of Women.
Noles is a nurse manager at UAB Hospital’s Acute Trauma Care Unit and the Outpatient Clinical Decision Unit. She also teaches as an adjunct faculty member for the School in the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) specialty track and helped implement the CNL position throughout UAB Hospital.
The 25th Annual Outstanding Women Awards ceremony, hosted by the UAB Commission on the Status of Women, was held March 15, 2018 at the UAB Alumni House. The ceremony is traditionally held during Women’s History Month to honor women in the UAB and Birmingham communities who have served or mentored other women, taken a courageous stance or overcome adversity to achieve a goal.
Noles earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the UAB School of Nursing in 2011.
