University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing two-time alumna Princess Carter, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has earned the Nurse Executive Board Certification (NE-BC) credential offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Nurses who hold this certification have met certain eligibility requirements and passed a certification examination demonstrating competency of managing daily operations of a unit or service line.
Carter is Research Nurse Manager with the UAB Division of Memory Disorders and Behavioral Neurology.
“The NE-BC has bolstered the education I received in the Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at the UAB School of Nursing and will aid in managing the processes of our research program to foster a professional and healthy work environment,” she said.
Carter plans to begin work on her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the UAB School of Nursing this fall, focusing on nurse leadership and professional development.
“My overall goal as a nurse leader is to develop, mentor and motivate staff to accomplish their professional goals and provide excellent care to the various populations we serve here at UAB Health System,” Carter said.
Carter earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and MSN degrees from the UAB School of Nursing in 2009 and 2018, respectively.
