University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Vice Chair of the Department of Acute, Chronic and Continuing Care Assistant Professor Bryan Wilbanks, PhD, DNP, FAANA, CRNA (DNP 2012, PhD 2016), has been elected Vice Chair of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Foundation Board of Trustees. The foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to anesthesia research, education and development.
“Through this position, I’ll be supporting the School of Nursing’s mission by promoting the scholarship and education of the nurse anesthesia profession,” Wilbanks said.
Wilbanks’ role on the Board of Trustees will include serving as an ambassador, recommending policies and promoting ongoing strategic planning and evaluation. He’ll also be working to secure and assess monetary resources and ensure financial stewardship.
Wilbanks has an extensive background of involvement and contributions within the AANA Foundation. As an active member of AANA, he has worked on studies, served as a reviewer for grants and is on the fellows selection committee. In 2021, he joined the AANA Foundation Board and was named an inaugural AANA Fellow.
