HIDDEN FIELDS

HIDDEN FIELDS

Success in your civilian career

You were well trained for the military from day one - prepared to meet any challenge, no matter how risky or dangerous. But we know that training doesn't always translate to civilian life. The good news is that UAB's many online degrees can help you pursue your college education while you transition to life after the military. We have a variety of scholarships available specifically for veterans just like you. Plus, as a yellow ribbon school, we offer important services dedicated to helping you succeed in the classroom and in your career. All of that is why U.S. News & World Report chose us as one of the best colleges for veterans. It's why you should choose us, too.

Yellow Ribbon Program

UAB participates in the VA Yellow Ribbon Program, which is available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Benefits are available to qualifying veterans who are eligible to receive the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance and scholarships are available through various government and non-profit organizations. Assistance is available for both veterans and military children.

Veteran Student Resources

UAB's Office of Veterans Services connects veteran students with resources both at UAB and through the government to help them transition from their military career to college and their next career.

How Do I Apply?

Whether you're applying to college for the first time, coming back after taking a break, or transferring coursework to UAB, applying to UAB is easy, no matter where you are in your educational journey or where you call home.

With UAB’s superior reputation compared to other universities, I had no reservations about exploring their online offerings. The experience with the online format has been superlative. The professors and instructors provide the same level of support and quality of enlightenment as if I were on campus.

Christopher Allen Perry

BS in Health Care Management

Traditional education programs really emphasize 'what' teachers do while the IDD program sought to explore and understand 'how' and 'why teachers do what they do. The program has completely altered how I approach teaching and instruction and my perspective on education.

Markell Payne

MS in Instructional Design & Development

I looked at other universities, but UAB just stood out as the best in the Southeast. Most students in the program do work full-time like me so the professors understand and will work with you.
