Ritu Aneja, Ph.D.

Department: Nutrition Sciences
Description: Dr. Aneja's lab focuses on mind–body intervention trials. Our group conducts randomized controlled trials of mind–body interventions, including breathwork, and behavioral approaches, to study their impact on mental and physical health, with a focus on breast cancer survivors, pre-diabetics, and highly stressed individuals. We integrate multi-omics data such as gene expression, epigenetics, proteomics with psychosocial and real-world data to understand how mind–body interventions influence biological pathways across multiple levels. By combining neuroimaging with multi-omics data, we investigate psycho–neuro–endocrine–immune mechanisms to inform chronic disease prevention including cancer.
Dr. Aneja also heads the T32 Cancer and Prevention and Control Training Program. Ask her about that!
