Postdoctoral position – B cell responses to viral pathogens
Description
A 2-year postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Kobie lab is in the Department of Medicine/Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to study basic and translational B cell biology as it relates to protective immunity to viral pathogens. The position will support NIH-funded research to dissect and exploit the B cell response for optimal protection from HIV and coronaviruses. Advanced methodologies, including high-throughput single cell resolution techniques, deep immunoglobulin repertoire analysis, and protein engineering will be central to the investigations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in immunology or related field with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology and experience with flow cytometry and bioinformatics. Strong communication skills and at least one peer-reviewed first author publication required.
