Staff Council to meet Aug. 22

Know a staff member who represents UAB’s values so well they should do so in an official capacity? Nominate them to be a UAB Staff Council representative for their organizational unit.

Members of the 2019-20 UAB Staff Council executive committee are Jennifer Breland, Laine Chapman, Holly Holliday-Jones and Michelle Henry.

Employees are encouraged to bring a full-size laundry detergent or house-cleaning product for Blazer Kitchen.

Terms for the newly elected officers and senators begin Sept. 1. A list of senators and alternates is on the UAB Faculty Senate website.

President Ray Watts and Staff Council leadership will speak at the picnic 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Campus Green.

Beginning its third year, the UAB Staff Council elected the newest members of its executive committee and looks forward to continuing its success and creating new traditions.

Change is very quickly reshaping universities, and strong lines of communication between all sectors in the university are more important than ever.

Council meetings are open to the campus.
