Sonya Hardy, clinical trials manager for the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine, is UAB’s Employee of the Month for October.

School of Nursing’s Cynthia Selleck, Ph.D., has spent years giving back to Birmingham’s most diverse and underserved populations, earning her the 2018 Odessa Woolfolk Community Service Award.

Frank Pajaron, hospital maintenance field supervisor, has been named UAB’s Employee of the Year. Pajaron was chosen from the Employee of the Month award-winners during the 12-month period ending in July 2018.

Sculptor Stacey Holloway’s new AEIVA exhibition “Not to be otherwise” features a life-size bison and scores of porcelain bunnies, birds and bees.

Cheryl Freeman, material transfer specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Research, is UAB’s Employee of the Month for September.

Freedom of speech, the intersection of human rights and metropolitan areas and the global refugee crisis are part of the fall forums with UAB’s Institute for Human Rights.

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1966 as one of the original academic units in the College of General Studies; now, UAB’s its labs are a part of the 1,200 labs on campus overseen by principal investigators.
