corporate challengeUAB teams are among the more than 50 expected to compete in the Birmingham Corporate Challenge July 14-16. Team members in the health-and-wellness challenge will square off in 15 Olympic-style competitions including tug-of war, obstacle course, corn hole, 5K run and more. Most of the events will be held in nearby Railroad Park.

Teams from organizations of similar size will compete against each other for points, and winners will be announced in each division. UAB will showcase two squads: Team UAB led by John Jones, vice president for Student Affairs, and Team UAB Medicine steered by Jordan Demoss, senior associate vice president for UAB Hospital.

“Our UAB teams may go head-to-head with each other in many of the events as well as compete with other companies. However, I’m confident that together, UAB/UAB Medicine will show up in force and demonstrate to the rest of the Birmingham business community our camaraderie and commitment to healthy behaviors,” said UAB’s Chief Human Resource Officer Alesia Jones.
