UAB Benevolent Fund will build its sixth Habitat House through the generosity of UAB employees who contributed $50,000 to sponsor the house. Approximately 600 volunteers hours are needed to build the house from start to finish.
TheThis year’s house is being built in Eastlake for Nyquaci Young, a UAB Kirklin Clinic employee, and her three children. “Owning my own home will be the happiest moment in my life,” Young said.
Building will begin on Sept. 26. Employees and volunteers with a desire to make a difference now can register to volunteer on BlazerPulse. Time slots are available 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday Sept. 26-Nov. 9.
