One-year pilot grants are available for research focusing on minority aging and health disparities.
The Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging Research may fund as many as five projects for as much as $50,000 each. Faculty at UAB, UA, Morehouse School of Medicine and Tuskegee University are eligible for funding.
Proposals should focus on specific social, cultural and behavioral mechanisms to improve physical and mental health or cognitive function. A letter of intent is due Dec. 10. Investigators whose proposals are considered competitive will be invited to submit full proposals.
