UAB employees and their families can learn about resources and services available at UAB and in the community during the annual Mental Health Resource Fair 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Oct. 5 on the first floor of the North Pavilion.
“Millions of Americans are impacted daily by mental health conditions all over the country,” said Tami Mayes Long, director of the UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center, which is presenting the event.
“As we continue to live with the stigma of mental illness today, we want everyone to know that it's OK to seek assistance because everyone has challenges in life,” Long said.
Representatives will be there to answer questions about local nonprofits including Oasis Counseling for Women and Children, Hand in Paw, Impact Family Counseling, the Exchange Center and Family Guidance Center. EACC also will offer onsite depression screenings during the event.

Shindigs Food Truck will be parked at the North Pavilion first floor entrance, and the first 50 attendees will receive a free treat from Steel City Pops. Attendees also will have chances to win game tickets, UAB swag and other prizes throughout the event.
