As the hectic holidays approach, EACC Director Tami Long, Ph.D., encourages employees who want to take charge of their mental and emotional health and well-being to use the free resources UAB provides.
“An employee who has resources and support during difficult times is better able to cope, which makes for a more engaged and productive person on the job and at home,” Long said.

A personal myStrength account provides 24/7 access to evidence-based resources for improved emotional health, well-being and resilience, including mood trackers, goal-setting tools and e-learning activities that can be completed in minutes a day.
These digital tools provide affordable, accessible and confidential support to complement other forms of care, such as medication or working with a behavioral health professional. The EACC also offers eligible employees and members of their immediate household up to 12 free counseling or life-coaching sessions per year with a licensed and certified counselor or board-certified life coach.
