rep shared values 2025 550pxBeginning in February, UAB Human Resources Learning & Development will launch a program series that illustrates how the new UAB Shared Values: We CARE apply to the everyday work of the UAB community.

Developed as part of UAB’s Forging Ahead strategic plan and informed by the Campus Engagement Survey, the values — Collaborate, Act with integrity, Respect all and Excel — should “influence the decisions we make, the way we work and how we treat others,” said President Ray Watts.

How can UAB’s Shared Values benefit UAB faculty and staff to succeed in their roles?

That is the topic of the new series, created by Learning & Development’s Amber Anderson Grant and Laura Beth Rogers. Each virtual session will feature guest speakers from across campus as they share how UAB’s Shared Values influence behavior, relationships and decision-making. Provost Janet Woodruff-Borden, Ph.D. will kick off the first session, focused on collaboration.
