UAB Head Baseball Coach Brian Shoop is one of four inducted into the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame Friday, Jan. 18.

Shoop has compiled 717 career victories throughout his 18-year career, 692 of which came while at the helm of the Birmingham-Southern College program where he led the Panthers to the 2001 NAIA National Championship.

His clubs averaged 41 wins a season at Birmingham-Southern and captured nine regular season conference titles and eight conference tournament crowns.

In his first season at UAB in 2007, Shoop led the Blazers to a 12-12 league record and fourth place finish in Conference USA to match the program's highest-ever finish in the league standings.

Shoop has previously been honored as an ABCA Coach of the Year and is a member of the Malone (Ohio) College Athletic Hall of Fame.
