The Campus Planning Committee announced in the spring it was implementing seven finish schemes for use on all future UAB projects – a practice common among major institutions across the country.
The decision provides for consistent color themes that relate to one another across a sprawling campus like UAB and ensures compliance with the facilities standards that protect quality, incorporate safety codes and provide maintainability.
Rhyann Granger, interior design program administrator, is leading the charge in UAB’s standard finishes and is working with UAB building administrators across campus to select schemes for all campus buildings.
Granger works on all relevant Design Build Services projects and reviews the finishes and furniture selections for all new facilities.
Each color scheme includes flooring, wall paint, ceramic tile and laminate colors in varying price ranges and delivery availability.
Granger has experience with interior space design as well as selecting carpet, paint and laminate finishes for multi-specialty facilities similar to UAB. She also has experience working with furniture quality standards and furniture layout.
