If you have ever had trouble sending or receiving large files, consider using the UAB Drop Box.
This online tool, located at www.uab.edu/it/dropbox, enables anyone to upload files up to 2GB. (Users must split larger documents into smaller files).

Those with a BlazerID can log into the tool’s restricted features and upload files for anyone inside or outside UAB. Individuals not affiliated with UAB can drop off files for any faculty or staff member who has a BlazerID. Outside users must enter the recipient’s UAB e-mail address, which must be in the format of username@uab.edu .

Filling out a short form generates an e-mail to the intended recipient letting them know they have a file waiting in the DropBox. The e-mail provides information on the sender and file type, a URL for pickup, a claim ID and a passcode. Files are held in the DropBox for up to two weeks.
