Children with diabetes now have the opportunity to attend a special summer camp at UAB July 28-31 to learn to better manage their disease.
Camp Sugar Falls is for children ages 6-17 with Type 1 or 2 diabetes and their siblings in the same age group. Campers will meet 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the UAB Campus Recreation Center.
Children will learn about their disease and how to control it through careful monitoring, diet and exercise. Registered nurses and volunteers from the School of Medicine will help provide education.
