The second annual “Breath of Life” motorcycle ride will benefit the UAB Lung Health Center on Saturday, Aug. 2. The ride runs from Riders Harley-Davidson in Trussville to Burly Earls and the Lung Health Center before finishing at the Birmingham Race Course. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. at Riders Harley Davidson, Trussville. The ride begins at 1 p.m.
The ride features a poker run. A $25 donation earns one hand, with additional hands available for $10. Prizes for best and worst hands will be awarded.
A bike show and silent auction rounds out the ride at the Birmingham Race Course. The bike show starts at 6 p.m. with judging for best bikes at 8:30 p.m.
The UAB Lung Health Center provides education to patients, their families, and the community while conducting research related to the prevention and management of lung diseases. The Lung Health Center directs several projects devoted to the prevention of lung diseases. Some of the many current research programs and projects include studies on asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tuberculosis, and pharmaceutical trials.
