'Information is Good Medicine' is the theme for Healthfest, health screenings from UAB's Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences. The free and open-to-the public screenings will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at the library.
Screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and sickle cell will be offered, along with vision screenings (beginning at 9 a.m.). The event also includes a blood drive. A pharmacist will be on hand to answer questions about medications and drug interactions. Wellness information and advice on accessing free health services will also be available.
