Approximately 50 people ages 25-40 have been selected from a cross-section of young professionals from the city's corporate, civic and volunteer organizations for the 2009 Class of Leadership UAB.

"The organization's mission is to help educate young leaders about UAB's vision, mission and ongoing endeavors in education, research, economic development and patient care," said Shirley Salloway Kahn, vice president for Development, Alumni and External Relations. She said the inaugural class was a tremendous success. "Almost every member of the Class of 2008 has become involved on campus, participating in advisory boards, mentoring and offering input in innumerable ways."
