Cofield joins UVA after decade of exceptional service to UAB

Robert (Bo) Cofield, Dr.P.H., is stepping down from his roles as associate vice president of UAB Hospital, chief operating officer of UAB Highlands Hospital, and interim president of Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital to join the University of Virginia Medical Center as chief operating officer and associate vice president for hospital and clinics operations.

Robert (Bo) Cofield, Dr.P.H., is stepping down from his roles as associate vice president of UAB Hospital, chief operating officer of UAB Highlands Hospital, and interim president of Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital to join the University of Virginia Medical Center as chief operating officer and associate vice president for hospital and clinics operations.

Cofield's last day at UAB is December 31, 2009.

Cofield has taken on increasing levels of responsibility during his tenure at UAB, including serving as Health Services Foundation director of special projects and as director of operations for UAB Health System corporate services.

Plans for interim leadership for UAB Highlands and Callahan Eye Foundation will be announced soon.
