Researchers are studying breast-cancer prevention from its genetic origin through its link to proper diet and exercise — the areas studied by investigators Monica Baskin and Dori Pekmezi.
A local news story, "Dropout College Freshmen Costs Soar," based on a report with flawed methodology and misleading conclusions, inaccurately reflects the cost of educating undergraduate students at UAB, say university and higher education officials.
UAB’s South Central Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLC) is one of 14 such centers in the nation and will replace the Center for Public Health Preparedness. The PERLC will manage planning for natural and man-made disasters and training responders to be prepared.
