UAB PT Class of '88 Memorial Fund
The UAB Physical Therapy Class of 1988 Memorial Fund is a meaningful way to honor the classmates we have lost and to support current students who find themselves in emergency situations.
Patti (Roberts) Johnson
Patti began her journey with our class, but had to drop out due to the death of her father. She was able to return to the PT program two years later and finish her MSPT in 1990.
Sadly, Patti passed away in 2021, but if you read her full memorial, you will see that she truly understood emergency situations and would be both humbled and honored to know her life story was now helping UAB PT students and future physical therapists.

Randy Gilner
Shortly after graduating, Randy Gilner traveled to Israel to volunteer his services to those victims of the conflict in that area. He also provided financial support to a physical therapy student at UAB who was struggling and his generosity enabled her to attend a seminar in her final year of PT classes.
Unfortunately, Randy left us prematurely on August 10, 1990, a victim of the AIDS epidemic. Throughout his young life he clearly embraced a philanthropic life and philosophy and he would have been very pleased to know that he was a part of a fund which assists UAB PT students in their endeavors to join us in the profession.
