Dr. Liza Kimbo is the senior specialist for private-sector service delivery for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. In this role she supports engagement of private-sector providers by addressing global health needs.

 Dr. Kimbo was a graduate research assistant for the Sparkman Center from 2018 to 2022 where she was mentored by Dr. Janet Turan, previous Sparkman Center director, and Dr. Anna Helova, the current Deputy Director. Their guidance nurtured her professional growth in public health practice and research. Kimbo stated that “the Sparkman Center felt like a family, where shared laughter and a sense of camaraderie accompanied our collaborative work.” 

She is excited for upcoming country-wide projects in the Philippines, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and South Africa where she aims to strengthen and sustain diverse health systems by reducing the prevalence of AIDS, TB, and Malaria. Additionally, she is creating a comprehensive database that captures the most effective practices for  engaging with the private sector. Dr. Kimbo contributes insightful knowledge to global health research and plans to publish these findings in coming years, showcasing her commitment to the Global Health Fund mission.
