The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s online learning entity, UAB Online, is ranked by Newsweek as No. 15 on its list of America’s Top Online Colleges for 2023.
This recognition puts UAB’s online courses among the top 7.5% of the best and most sought-after in the country, and UAB as the highest-ranked Alabama university on the list.
Of the 200 institutions recognized, the UAB Online ranking is based on a survey of more than 9,000 online learners about their individual online learning experiences by Statista for Newsweek. Respondents rated institutions based on several criteria, including where they obtained an online degree or attended an online course, specifics about their experiences and satisfaction with the organization and whether or not they would recommend it to others.
Furthermore, UAB Online received a best five-star ranking on this list, awarded to institutions with an aggregate score value that exceeds the median score of all named institutions.
"We're honored to be recognized among the nation's top institutions for academic excellence in online undergraduate or graduate programs," said UAB Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Pam Benoit. "UAB is committed to providing learners with a competitive edge in online education. Our eLearning curriculum offers innovative, engaging, reliable, and secure resources capable of supporting the diverse needs of faculty and students on and off campus.”
